Although the name of ther trek was "Everest Base Camp", and the sense of accomplishment in reaching the Base Camp was profound, the beauty of the entire trek is what is memorable for me.

First, some hiccups. The room I booked through Active was at the Thamel Hotel. There were no rooms available when i arrived so I was given a room at a nearby hotel that was NOT nearly the same quality. It was loud with construction going on and not conducive to getting a good night's sleep. It was a comfortable room however. My wife had developed a foot stress fracture while training and active had no interest in working with us to change dates. The entire payment for her was forfeited. The understanding was that I would keep the same rooms that she and I had paid for. That was not the case. In the Sanctuary, I shared with 2 other men. To be fair, that is not Active's fault. However, they did not honor this agreement in other hotels until I called it to our guide's attention. So I started the trip a bit unhappy.
The trek was somewhat harder and far more uncomfortable than I expected. We have done Killi, the Khumbu trail, W-trek, Mont Blanc as well as trekking in the UK and New Zealand. The basic facilities are adequate at best- solar showers, drop toilets, cold huts- so beware there is suffering involved.
That being said, the guides, Kim and Gogul, were great. The scenery was spectacular. The food was excellent. It is a trip I would strongly recommend. I came back with a healthier outlook having enjoyed Nepal, my fellow travelers and the guides.

This trip was one I’ve wanted to do for decades. My main attraction was to experience really big mountains. This trip definitely fulfilled this expectation. But the trip provided much more than that. Kathmandu was an overload to the senses, the villages and tea houses on the trek was a great experience into the lifestyle and hospitality of the Nepali people and the transition through the life zones on the trek provided constant interest. Our group, guides and porters were excellent company.

I was very happy with the Active Adventures Everest Base Camp trek. I really enjoyed the people who were in our group. All of us were in the age group of 59-74. Being 70 myself I really appreciated the encouragement I received from my fellow trekkers. Our guides and the porters were excellent. They were there to answer any of our questions and were very helpful. Their main goal was to see we finished the trek in a safe and healthy way. The accommodations in the guest houses were very good and the food was good. It was a tough climb especially going up the rocks but I have memories of something I achieved which will last me my lifetime. Everything was wonderful.

It was 30 years ago that I decided the hike to EBC mattered. On Oct 19 we made it! The trip was certainly tougher than expected. Gorak Shep will never be forgotten (as a most trying accomodation; grin). The trek was full of grandure. The people of Nepal are a marvel. Active managed to pull it all into a cohesive trip!

This trip was awesome! From the itinerary to the guides, Active nailed this one. The trip itself is a pretty common trek (A.B.C. trek), and different tour groups each do it a little different (# days, stops, etc.), but from what I saw, the Active itinerary was among the most well-thought-out. I highly recommend the A.B.C. trek to anyone. It is challenging with a few long days on the trail, but the daily activity never seemed like too much and the guides did a great job of setting a pace that worked well for the whole group. With a reasonable level of fitness, your guides will get you there and back. Our guides were Kim and Gokul, and our entire group loved them both. They both had extensive experience trekking in Nepal and were very knowledgeable of everything Nepal, Himalaya and the Annapurna region. They were both kind, fun, approachable and engaged. It was important to me that the team included local guides, so it was great to have Gokul be an instrumental member of the team, and that our Nepali porters were also a part of the team. A highlight was peeling bamboo with the porter team during a water break that was then used to make curry served with dinner that night. The food and accommodations are standard for all treks in the Annapurna sanctuary, but I found them surprisingly good. From when I landed in Kathmandu until I departed, I always felt like Active had me covered. I would definitely travel with them again.

October was perfect time to visit the Canyon lands and the Arches. the sights were majestic.

Very disappointed Paid for 6 day of adventures only got 5. Last day was a 15 min walk and then 2 hour return drop off to hotel. we were dropped off at 11 am. the trip was not cheap and to be short changed like that was very unfair. :( you should be more up front with actual itinerary .

So one of my kids is less active and one very active … this trip and the guides especially was so perfect to be accessible to less active one while engaging to the more active one! Perfect balance of activities… the guides were great adult examples of responsible yet fun seeking adults

This trip will go down as one of our most memorable adventures ever. Our guides, Steve and Bryson, made this experience a lifetime memory. We took on challenges that were beyond what we thought we were capable of and left with memories we will cherish forever.

Thanks to Steve and Bryson, the mighty two guides on our October 2023 Mighty Five Adventure, our hiking adventure exceeded my expectations! Starting with the hiking trails to the rappelling experience, Steve and Bryson kept us organized, safe, well fed and most of all they they instilled confidence and kept us motivated each step of the way. A special shout out to Jack and Andy who guided us through the canyons and rappelling experience. Wow! So exhilarating.

Every day was filled with laughter, words of encouragement, sharing of facts and history of our surroundings. The accommodations and food were excellent. The van was very comfortable for travelling.

I would definitely recommend this hiking trip! We had a fantastic time.

The Utah Mighty Five trip was an experience like no other. The guides Steve and Bryson tailored the experience to suit our group and pushed us to optimize the experience. They shared their expert knowledge, kept us laughing for 9 days and were highly organized and personable. The hiking was amazing and the canyoneering guides Jack and Andy instilled a sense of confidence that make rappelling down a slot canyon totally safe and exhilarating. The accommodation and food were excellent - Austin Adventures thought of every detail. I would highly recommend this trip for the full hiking experience, the stellar quality of the guides and every aspect of the trip.

The guides that we worked with were outstanding. They accurately evaluated the needs of our group from the beginning and then provided the support needed for every to have a successful trip. This trek is particularly hard and having highly skilled and sensitive guides made it a real success.

The trip was just wonderful. I loved all the hiking, the variety of locations, the other activities and the most beautiful country. Our guides Nicola and Johnathon were super. Nicola prepared the best meals and Johnathon was right there to assist her while also making great fish on two occasions. They were both so kind, helpful and very efficient. I would most definitely do another trip with Active Adventures!!! Some of the accommodations were a bit run down and the company may want to reevaluate several spots. Overall it was just perfect in every way. We had several cancellations due to bad weather, but Nicola and John made the best of these unfortunately situations.
