As our 17 year old son said about the trip and I think we all agree, the Cousin Trip to Yellowstone was, "Straight up ballin'." Our guides, Jackie Querido, David Whayland, and Jaime Gault were extremely knowledgable, very gracious and friendly, super responsive to all the guest's needs, and kept a pace that was good for teenagers and adults alike. The lunches that were made by our guides and the one dinner that was a barbecue cookout were fantastic! We also deeply appreciated all of the personal special touches they provided- strawberry beverages at the end of a hot hike to the beach, music playlists and guest DJing in the vans, and birthday celebrations to name just a few. The accommodations in and just outside of the park were awesome (especially the historic inns), and the last evening at Chico Hot Springs was so special many of us were moved to tears. Yellowstone is an unbelievably special place, made more special by the crew at Austin Adventures.

This was my 3rd trip with Austin Adventures and it again met their (and my) very high standards. After years as a single parent, I am always struck by how the guides at Austin take care of all the details as if they were an attentive parent planning so that no contingency could detract from my enjoyment. Didn’t bring enough water? They carried extra. Too tired to climb that last hill on the bike ride? They’ll give you a ride up, all without making you feel embarrassed. And they’re not only incredibly nice and resourceful, they are incredibly knowledgeable. I love traveling with these wonderful people.

Our family of 4 (2 adults + 11yo + 9yo) had a great time on the Yellowstone Family Vacation tour. The guides were amazing - full of knowledge, surprises, and desire to keep everyone happy. This saved us a ton of trouble planning everything and allowed us to stay in the park multiple nights, seeing much more than we could have ourselves. BIG kudos to David, Jackie and Jamie for a great job!!!!

Our first experience in Glacier couldn’t have been better. Weather was perfect, our group was the best we’ve traveled with so far and our guides (Bob and Steve) were top notch!

My son and I had the greatest experience on our Glacier National Park trip. There were many elements to the experience that made it terrific including: time with my son; the beauty of Glacier Park; the activities including hiking, biking and rafting; the outstanding group of people on our trip and finally our guides. Our guides (Steve and Bob) were absolutely outstanding. The best in the business.

My daughter and I were interested in doing a fun mother/daughter trip to Glacier, NP. We are both outdoorsy
and my daughter likes athletic challenges. We read on-line about Austin Adventures' Glacier trip and it sounded perfect: small group, hiking, biking, swimming, water rafting. And we weren’t disappointed! Although I am healthy, I knew I wouldn’t be able to keep up w my daughter on the more strenuous outings, so I contacted Austin Adventures prior to the trip and shared my concern. They reassured me not to worry about it, as there would be a minimum of two guides at all times. One guide would lead and the other would follow the slower participants. And if I chose to, I could sit out on any activity and that would be fine, too. No pressure.
Our guides, Steve and Bob, set the tone of the the trip, encouraging group camaraderie, safety and fun times. We all quickly became best buddies for those precious few days. After all, the trip wasn’t just about how far or how fast you can walk, but also about connecting. Connecting with the innate beauty of nature, culture, history, fellow travelers and oneself.
I initially thought this trip was a bit pricey, but it was worth every penny and more.
Many thanks to Bob, Steve and travel buddies. Happy trails to all.

Our family enjoyed the time of our lives on the Austria Family Adventure Trip! Our guides, Peter, Ronnie and Mirjam were amazing, kind and knowledgable. We had a group of 4 families in total and everyone got along so well -- even the kids and teens! The group experience, led by expert guides, made this trip so much more enjoyable than if we were traveling on our own. Will book again for sure!

I had a great experience with Active Adventures in Iceland. I picked the 6-day Classic Iceland Adventure and was very happy with my choice. While the price was a bit high traveling in a Single Room, the experience more than made up for it.
We were guided by two amazing ladies and our group of 8 absolutely loved them! The local guide Ms. Stina (Cristina Bang) is a gem. She delighted us with adventure, laughter, and stories about Iceland. The Kiwi guide Mel was kind, genuine and always helpful. She kept an eye on all of us and helped those who needed a little more attention.
The hotels, the food, the excursions, and the hikes were great. Only two reasons I am not giving an "Excellent/Five stars):
    1) The itinerary should take the cruise ship schedules into consideration and avoid or work around their arrival date. This is crucial because large crowds were a detriment to an otherwise incredibly good tour. Another option would be timing the visits to top tourist attractions outside of the standard hours, or scheduling your departure dates outside the peak season (mid-July to late August).
    2) The Hotel Storm, which was our last night, is not up to the standard of the hotels selected for this tour. I understand this was caused by an availability issue during the busiest night of the year for Reykjavik as the original itinerary stayed at the Centrum Hotel which was lovely. An upgrade would have been appreciated, however not always possible.
In closing, I am leaving Iceland profoundly grateful. Active Adventures was the right choice for this trip.

The stuff dreams are made of, Iceland! It is impossible to describe this trip because Iceland is like no other place in its beauty, vastness and natural wonders. Our guides were outstanding in immersing us in the culture and lore as well as the daily activities and sights adding a deeper understanding of the place and people.

My husband and I are both in our 60’s, and we just had an amazing trip with Olivia and Justin. They each took turns with leading, driving, and guiding us on numerous adventures. We took 4 hikes—approximately 9, 7, 3.5, and 3 miles long. Three of the four hikes included rain, but we still had a great time! We kayaked across a beautiful lake that was mostly empty, except for the salmon, and a few other kayakers. We went on a raft trip and shared the space with countless salmon and 25 eagles! We took a ship out into the ocean near Kenai Fjords and saw puffins, sea otters, Stellar sea lions, kittiwakes, a mountain goat, cormorants, orcas, and humpback whales. There were also amazing glaciers calving, and lots of mini icebergs. Yes, it was hard work at times, but the feeling of completing hard things is worth it! And we took breaks to catch our breath and take photos. They kept us fed and there were snacks available at all times in the car. It was an amazing trip!

Really enjoyed the South island. We had sun, snow wind and rain, but it was fantastic. From rain forest, snow capped mountains and fabulous hikes it was all so different. The Copeland track was pretty tough due to weather conditions, but after we had conquered it we felt amazing. All in all a brilliant experience.
